Aurelio Voltaire's Necrocomicon is a horror/macabre art and music
convention like no other! Unlike other shows where attendees stand for
hours to get an autograph or sit and listen to others speak, Necrocomicon
is all about immersion. The attendee is always at the center of the
action.
Last year, attendees sang in the Late Night Scaryoke competition,
danced at the Dark Elf Lords Masquerade and Vampire Club, showed off their
costumes in our costume contest, wandered the winding path of vendors,
displayed their art in our Fright Gallery, submitted and ran their own
panels and interacted with guests and speakers in a way more intimate and
engaging than at most shows. It's the attendees who make the show, not the
other way around. And this year, we are taking that concept to a whole new
level!
Enter The Black Labyrinth!
Once upon a time, renowned author, Neil Gaiman, referred to Voltaire as a
"Gothic Elf Lord" and this year we are embracing that image and giving you
The Black Labyrinth! Imagine a realm of goblins, elves and witches where
strange, fairy creatures cavort through the dark wood! Imagine a place
where anything can happen and enchantment awaits behind every corner.
Come dressed as a Gothic goblin, Night Elf, or evil fairy princess. Don your
fairy glamour (and wings!) and visit our forest of vendors selling shiny
trinkets, enchanted perfumes and beautiful oddities!
Once again, sing your favorite songs in our Late Night Scaroyoke ("You remind me of the babe! What babe? The babe with the power!" ). Dance until the wee hours at our
Gothic Elf Lord's masquerade ball where your costume can win you riches untold!
Once again, we invite macabre artists to submit their work for
inclusion in our Fright Gallery and those with mystic-like knowledge to
submit panel and lecture ideas.
Expect minstrels whose music brings to mind magik and mystery and images of riding Landstriders through Mordor.
Stir The Dark Crystal, Legend, Labyrinth, Lord of the Rings, Pan's Labyrinth and The Neverending Story into a cauldron with an abundant helping of the macabre, darkness and horror and you have NECROCOMICON, The Black Labyrinth!
